If the RV will not start, read the prompt. A 22 June 2026 patch made “dead battery” its own reason, separate from no fuel and a missing engine.
The fix players describe is a battery charger kit or a spare battery. How long a charge takes is not in the patch notes, so that number stays off this page.
What to do when it dies
A 25 July 2026 Steam thread is the player write-up I am willing to repeat. People there say interior lights and headlights left on are what emptied the battery. The same thread points at a charger kit, or swapping in a spare. Buildings spawn a battery charging kit; an 18 June post says the studio raised how often the battery charger shows up in baskets and similar containers.
- Confirm the prompt says battery, not fuel or a missing engine.
- Switch off interior lights and headlights before you spend the only charge you have.
- Use a battery charger on the vehicle battery, or fit a spare battery, which is what that July thread describes.
- If you have neither, search buildings. The June spawn change is the reason that search is worth it.
Numbers I am not printing
There is no battery-specific achievement. I will not invent one. There is also no published charge time, no statement that the charger is consumed, and no official line that a generator tops the battery up. Upgrade parts for the battery exist as loot, from the August 2024 dev diary, which is a different object from the charger kit.
